Coca-Cola na Copa

A Copa do Mundo atrai grandes patrocinadores sendo um dos maiores a Coca-Cola. A música tema da Coca-Cola do cantor Somali-Canadense K'Naan virou hit no Brasil e em vários outros países como Alemanha e Espanha, sendo sempre gravada junto com um grupo ou cantor famoso do respectivo país (no Brasil, o Skank).

Mas a história dessa música começa muito antes da Copa do Mundo e antes de chegar a África saindo do Canadá passa pelo Haiti.

K'Naan lançou primeiro a música Wavin' Flag (Bandeira tremulando - em uma tradução livre) em seu primeiro albúm Troubadour (que em português significa Trovador, poeta lírico do séculoXII e XIII).

No refrão "wave your flag" a tradução ficaria mais próxma de: "levante sua bandeira" - referindo-se a sua luta

A música foi então escolhida como anthem (hino) da campanha "Young Artists for Haiti" (Jovens Artistas pelo Haiti) que reuniu mais de 20 jovens artistas canadenses com o intuito de arrecadar fundos para o Haiti que sofria e ainda sofre depois do terremoto de 13 de janeiro de 2010 que literalmente destruiu o país!

Sucesso absoluto do vídeo e da campanha em favor do Haiti a Coca-Cola escolheu a mesma música, adaptando a letra, como hino (anthem) para sua campanha de marketing durante a Copa do Mundo de 2010.
